Saturday, March 13-Sunday, March 14 2010
Even though it was extremely early and I was tired beyond belief, I had enough energy because I was pumped to go home. I had a wonderful week, but I was ready to go home to see everyone and tell them about my trip. I was also looking forward to a warm, clean shower and no mosquitoes.
We got to the airport and sat on the ground in the lobby with all our suitcases for about two hours. Then we went through security where they scanned our bags and did a quick body check, then we immediately boarded our plane. The sunrise was absolutely beautiful!
The plane ride was supposed to be about 7 1/2 hours, but when we got close to New York, it was too stormy, so we had to fly to Boston. We missed our next flight to Detroit because we were in Boston. We ended up sitting on the plane in the Boston airport for 5 hours. We all just wanted to get home so badly, but we were stuck and had no idea what we were doing.
We ended up getting off the plane and rented three vans to drive to Michigan. It would have been nice to get a plane, but the next flight out was Monday at 6!
So we were supposed to get home at 7 pm on Saturday, but didn't get back until Sunday at 3 pm. I was at least thankful that we were safe. We had to stop in Ann Arbor to drop off the dental students, and my parents ended up meeting us there as well! I was sooo thankful to see them. During the car ride back home I was able to show them all my pictures and videos from the trip and tell them all my stories. It was good to be home with them.
