Getting Prepared

Dr. Scott Hodges from Grand Rapids, MI has gone to Guyana about ten years for dental mission trips. Since he has a lot of experience with this, he is our leader and organizer. It has been very helpful following his outline on what needed to be done, such as a passport and immunizations before the trip.

Ashley and I went to get our immunizations in January. We had as much fun as possible getting them! We had to get vaccines for Yellow Fever, Tetanus, and Hepatitis A. We went to the clinic together and squeezed our stressballs during it. I'm not a big fan of injections, so I'm thankful that we could get our Typhoid vaccine through a pill instead. I was sore for a week for all of the immunizations, but I had some funny memories with Ashley!

South America is intriguing.
Yellow fever is not.

The Caribbean is paradise.
Typhoid fever is not.
